Couch Potato Portfolios vs. Total Return Investing Graph

Comparison of Total Return Investing with all the Couch Potato portfolios. The most aggressive Couch Potato portfolio underperformed by 1.4% per year. This difference is a combination of the ETF tracking errors, MERs and the “bond brake” from a more conservative portfolio. Bonds reduce risk and speed, similar to riding the brake while driving.

Total Return Investing here is 80% MSCI World Index and 20% TSX60. Performance since inception for all the ETFs in the Couch Potato portfolios.
